Janet Jones was born on January 10, 1959, in Bridgeton, Missouri.

Wayne Gretzky and Janet Jones crossed paths for the first time in 1984, when Wayne was a judge on the popular TV show Dance Fever. Janet was competing on the show then. However, their connection did not progress further at that particular time.

Janet Jones was engaged to Vitas Gerulaitis from 1985 to 1987.

Vitas Gerulaitis, the American professional tennis player, was born on July 26, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York. He passed away tragically at the age of 40 due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

After a year of dating, Wayne Gretzky popped the question to Janet Jones in 1987 during a flight to Los Angeles on a private jet, sealing their engagement.

On July 16, 1988, Wayne Gretzky and Janet Jones tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony held at St. Joseph's Basilica in Edmonton, Alberta.
